RESPONSIBLE GAMING - Our Policy
Gaming should be a fun activity and does indeed provide harmless entertainment to millions of adults. However we recognize that a very small minority of people can do themselves harm through excessive or inappropriate wagering. Whilst responsibility for a person's gambling rests with the individual, we recognize a duty of care to minimize harm, direct the player to sources of help where appropriate, and act in a socially responsible manner.
Our commitments to Responsible Gaming:
General
All staff are trained and made fully aware of our policies and industry codes of practice. Our policies are consistent with the Remote Gambling Association Social Responsibility Code.
Every care will be taken not to exploit the young, the immature or the vulnerable.
Our games will be fair.
Our advertising will be truthful and socially responsible.
Player Protection
We will not encourage our customers to re-stake their winnings; increase the amount they have decided to gamble; chase their losses; or continue gambling when they have indicated that they wish to stop.
We operate a facility whereby players can exclude themselves from the site, either on a permanent basis or for a chosen period of time. In the case of a player wishing to exclude himself or herself either permanently or temporarily they need only to contact support@wager-network.com and specify their requirement. In the case where players feel that they are spending too much time and / or money on our website the recommended period of abstinence is 6 months.
Players are able to monitor their cash balance on a real-time basis irrespective of which game they are playing, this then allows customers to constantly monitor their spending.
Other information relating to a customer's gaming account history is available on request.
It is advisable for players to keep a track of time and, as the entire site, including all the games, are browser based and thus can be viewed in a windows environment, the time should be viewable in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. This displays the computer's time.
Self Limits
Wager Network would like to remind players, or prospective players, that gambling can be harmful if not controlled and kept in moderation. In the event you feel that your level of gambling is causing you difficulties, help is available from the Charity Gamcare. You may wish, initially, to assess your gambling behavior using their simple assessment questionnaire. It's quick to complete and may help you assess your gambling objectively. Just click on this link or cut and paste http://www.gamcare.org.uk/selfhelp.php into your browser.
Please gamble with your head, not over it - stay in control.
If you ever feel that you’re spending beyond your means at our casino, we can help you to regulate your spending. Contact customer support @ support@wager-network.com and arrange to have regular deposit limits set on your account. Players may set their own weekly deposit limits whereby if the limit is reached the player is moved into a 'cooling off' period for 24 hours. If you ever decide to change your limits we’ll be more than happy to accommodate you.
To help you set limits that are right for you, ask yourself the following questions:
- What constitutes an acceptable loss before starting to gamble?
- Note how often you play?
- Note how long you play during each gaming session?
Use your answers to determine how much you would like to allow yourself to spend per day, per week or per month.
Protection of minors
We use age verification systems in order to monitor new joiners, and mitigate against the risk of minors playing on the site. No such system can be perfect but we review our procedures on a regular basis to ensure that they remain robust and reliable.
Our site has been ICRA rated as suitable only for over 18s.
Wager Network will continue to maintain a clear policy and procedure for dealing with underage gambling and ensure that it is followed.
Advertising
All Advertising will be legal, decent, honest and truthful.
Promotional emails will only be sent in accordance with relevant regulations and legislation.
Advertisements and promotions will, at all times, be socially responsible.
Every care will be taken not to exploit the young, the immature or the vulnerable.
The Wager Network website will, as far as is reasonably possible, not make the appearance of the website attractive to children.
Advertisements will not be directed at people under the age of 18 through the selection of media, style of presentation, content or context in which they appear.
Persons portrayed gambling will not be, nor appear to be, under 18.
Fairness
Wager Network retains a consistent game-by-game level of return to players and additionally only ever operate free-play games at the same payout ratio as their cash game equivalent.
Our players are offered full advice regarding the gambling facilities on offer. This will include full game explanations and rules, as well as clear notes of all staking levels and prizes.
In the event of a dispute, a player should take this up in the first instance with our Customer Care team who will do their best to resolve the issue to the player's satisfaction. If, however, the issue cannot be resolved satisfactorily the player has the right to appeal to IBAS (Independent Betting Arbitration Service) who will investigate the matter accordingly.
